Lots and lots of research! I knew I wanted to be home with my kids. I had no idea if there were any legitimate work at home jobs that didn’t involve selling. But I knew I had to try to find them. I was lucky to stumble upon wahm.com and learned that there are many different types of work at home jobs.

After finding that real work at home jobs do exist, I started applying like crazy. I knew there were some limitations. For example, many companies hire customer services representatives to work from home. With young kids, being on the phone is not a possibility for me. No one wants to hear my 3 year old’s temper tantrum in the background! Plus, that would be a fast way to get fired. A strict schedule wasn’t feasible either. I applied to all jobs I found that fit my criteria and was lucky to be offered some great opportunities.

At first, I did my work at home jobs in addition to my outside the home day job. It was a way to earn some extra money. Eventually, I was able to say good bye to my day job and just work from home. I can say from experience there are legitimate jobs working from home!
